The Ford F-series trucks are the best-selling trucks in the US for the 47th year in a row, and it’s not hard to see why. Their powerful engines and sturdy, reinforced frames make easy work of jobs other vehicles can’t tackle. These are a few of the highlights of one star of this illustrious series, the 2024 Ford F-350 SD.

Engine Power

Your F-350 comes with a choice of four engines. The standard engine is a 6.8L 2V DEVCT engine that produces 400 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. The mightier 7.3L 2V DEVCT engine increases this to 430 hp and 485 lb-ft of torque. If you want to tackle the toughest jobs, the available diesel engines can supply even more power.

The 6.7L Power Stroke V8 is a turbo diesel that pumps out 475 hp at 2,000 rpm and 1,050 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 rpm. If you need to move the heaviest loads, your F-350 can take the 6.7L High Output Power Stroke turbo diesel that provides the best-in-class performance of 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. With figures like these, it’s easy to see why the F-350 remains the trusted choice for work or the great outdoors.

Toughness

The F-350 is tough and rugged, built from the ground up to meet and overcome the toughest challenges. All vehicles are forged from cold-rolled steel to provide the strength and durability you depend on. Their frames are full-boxed and strengthened with up to ten cross-members to support massive weight. This construction method supplies both rigidity and flexibility.

The bodies are built from high-strength military-grade aluminum alloy. This material is lighter than steel but can easily shrug off hard knocks. Aluminum alloys are even more resistant to rust, making them the perfect material for working on a construction site or trailblazing through the wilderness.

Carrying Capacity and Towing

Every F-350 has a towing hitch receiver installed. The standard receiver is 2.5″, enabling you to tow up to 13,700 pounds without additional equipment. Larger conventional loads of up to 30,000 pounds can be towed by installing the towing package. This can be increased even further by fitting the available Max Towing package, which enables loads of up to 40,000 pounds to be towed with ease. The truck bed, depending on your cabin choice, can carry up to 8,000 pounds.
